I am determined to get healthy in 2014 and undue years of damage.

It is 2014, time for some major changes.  As I enter my late 30's I realize its past time to fix the damage I have done to my body.  Years of partying, drinking, smoking, eating whatever I wanted and exercising once a month have reeked havoc.  I feel far older then my age and want to feel better.  I am seriously lacking in energy attributed to my lack of healthy habits.  I have set goal after goal, only to fail time and time again.  I find myself always saying I will start a healthy diet next week, or I will start to exercise next week.  As the years go by find myself stating those same goals with a further out start date of next year.  Well no more, this is the year, this is the week for change.

My first priority is to incorporate more healthy foods into my diet.  Before I can begin to make change, I need to increase my energy level.  I have learned that drastic change overnight is very tough and not easily sustainable.  I am going to start with minor changes.  The first of which is to cut out refined sugar and supplement a snack with Greek yogurt. The key is to not feel like I am giving up something.  Greek yogurt is very good with fruit.  I'm not going to focus on the fact that I need to stay away from the cookies in my cupboard or the ice cream in my freezer, but rather the fact that I want to look better and feel better.  The joy of eating a cookie or other such sweet, is very short lived.  But I am certain the joy I feel when I am much lighter and full of energy will be far better!!!!
